Way back in the 90’s many of my fellow Gen X’ers latched on to Beck.  Some of us though had better taste and chose Canadian musician, Hayden.  if you have never heard of Hayden, then you would know how right you were when you voted for Indie Idol.  A major label who reportedly signed a big deal with Hayden also would like to forget.

“America’s Got Talent” entertained nearly 12 million viewers Tuesday night and lifted NBC to most-watched network.

The Peacock Network also had the edge in the 18-to-49 viewers. NBC slipped by ABC and Fox, which tied for second.

I generally hate TV talent shows. I’ve been drawn to America’s Got Talent on NBC. I don’t like the acts that end up getting boo’ed off the stage. I’m sure some of those acts just know beforehand that they are going to get the three X’s, but I hate it when the performer seems really shocked that the judges didn’t like their act.

After a riff on the TV show Dallas that introduces the judges, it’s time for more auditions. Will we start with an old person who isn’t at all talented like we did the last two weeks? Corky Duke is a 41-year-old line dancer, so that’s a partial yes, since I can’t call someone old who is in the same age group as, like, Brad Pitt. Predictably, Corky isn’t nearly as good as he thinks he is. I’d totally kick his butt in a line dancing street battle. Corky is buzzed away for his inability to do a convincing kick-ball-change.

Holly’s first song was not the best and sounded too much like Wham in the arrangement, but the accapella in the second chance song was hot.

The only guy in this dance troupe is one of three things and I am not sure which it is.  With him and 21 girls between 12 and their late teens, he is either the luckiest guy in the world, the most unlucky guy in the world, or just one of the girls.  The judges were right the outfits and makeup were horrible, but they sure can dance.
