The lyrics to the Nine Inch Nails song Hurt are some of the saddest for me having had a good friend who was a closet cutter at the time that some was popular. Every time I hear it I think of Angela who eventually committed suicide. Though I doubt at the time I would have know to get her into a self injury treatment program it would have been nice to know those things existed then.
I felt rather ashamed of myself for having forgot her until I heard about the the Realization Center today which could have provided her the help she needed. I know a lot of years have passed but there are people in your life that you shouldn’t forget and she was one of them which is why I mention the center now. Whether or not they could have fixed her problems I don’t know, because to this day I really don’t know what her real problems were. They do seem like the kind of place that would however have understood the problems I was too young to understand or deal with had I recognized them.
